MGB GT V8 Fast Filler Cap

At my local favorite breakers yard, I stumbled across a large alloy filler cap believed to be off a 1960's bus.  After much modification to remove the magnetic locking device and replace it with a spring loaded catch. The filler cap was welded on to an machined alloy ring to mount it through the right rear quarter pillar.

 I have found a feed pipe which I picked up a while back in a scrap yard.  This pipe goes all the way to the tank, and fits better. The pipe is marked SAIG Lancia/Fiat A 8-249 9F possibly off a Punto Diesel Turbo.

Fuel tank filler had to be cut and welded about 45 degrees to mate with the pipe

This is best done with a new tank as its difficult to fully flush a tank for welding

Finish Product

This pipe is a 2. 1/4 inch high pressure fuel resistant hose and should be well up to the job.
