Engine Tie Bars

Well I just got carried away with these and ended up with four. Three at the rear and one at the front.

This one may now have to go to accommodate my powered steering pump. It bolts to a U shaped mount welded to the chassis rail.

The following are the rear set-up, which the two outer ones are mounted 30 degrees off center, so they give mainly fore/aft and some lateral control. 45 degrees may have been better as it would have shared the load equally in both directions.

The ball joints are mounted through 3mm  washers welded as a sandwich on the inside and outside of the bulkhead, to make a strong deep mount. The flat plates obviously bolt directly to the heads.

The lateral control bar across the middle shares the right mount, pictured left and bolts to the left hand side bulkhead. It is actually a modified SD1 rear trailing arm and mount.

Probably a bit of over kill, but I was trying to share the load as much as possible.
